A random act of kindness

6 02 2008

When I arrived at my home this evening at close to seven the first thing I did was run to my mailbox to see if one of the two packages I was waiting for finally arrived. Unfortunately, neither one did but there was a mysterious bubble envelope for Wax Heaven all the way from New York City.

As it turns out, a reader of Wax Heaven sent along some free Jose Canseco cards, about ten in all and 4 that I didn’t have. That’s one hell of a batting average these days! Below are the cards and note he sent. Man, I appreciate the effort. I now have 759 different Jose Canseco cards. I never expected to get this kind of generous response to Wax Heaven when I created it back in October. Thanks to everyone that reads, comments, and spreads the word.

As a thank you package, I have put together a small lot of New York Mets. First is a small lot of “rookie cards” from Mets pitcher Philip Humber. Personally, the Topps Chrome is my favorite.

The final card included is one of my favorite pulls of 2007. It comes from Topps Turkey and it is a David Wright Black Refractor #’d 94/99! I hope you enjoy it and thank you for being a loyal reader. Your package will be in tomorrow’s mail so expect it to arrive very soon.
