Legends of WWF – CONTEST #2

18 07 2009

If you grew up in the 80’s, there’s no chance you don’t recognize Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake and the Genius. The pretty lady next to them was best known as Goldust’s valet and former diva, Marlena.

You can check out a safe for work gallery HERE.

To enter this contest simply leave a comment with your all-time favorite wrestler.

I know it’s lame, but the only wrestler I cared about when I was a kid was Hulk Hogan. That was before I knew that Andre the Giant got his start wrestling, so between the two I’ll have to pick Andre. Also he was spectacular as Fezzik in The Princess Bride.

man, I loved the WWF from around the 1998-2000 era. with the rock, steve austin, undertaker, kane, HHH, mankind, big show etc. all going at it, there was some great classic matches too.

my favorite would have to be mankind. he really played to the fans so well. as a little 8 year old seeing the hell in a cell match vs. the undertaker was a really special moment. Mankind sacrifices his body for the fans, esp. that night. he first goes flying off the cage, and then through it with a chokeslam. (which he said afterwords was an accident!) then he takes another shot on tacs. very cool fan. Mario Id say hes the Andrew Miller of that era of wrestling, where there were a lot of bad apples but he always was nice to the kids and stood out for me.

Leaping Lenny “Genius” Poffo was great back in the day. But my favorit was Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka. Had the poster on my wall.

My day too me to Madison Square Garden to see him. It was the 1st time he went off the top of the Steel cage. It was againt Dom Morraco. I still have pictures that I took from that day. They were from the upper teir, but you can see him jumping off.

Super Fly Jimmy Snukka. I think that’s how you spell Snukka. That dude was the man. Best off the top rope moves of his day.

Kinda racist now that I think back on it. The only latino guy in the group had to be a jungle man, but we still loved him.
