More reasons Fleer is dead…

You are looking at a rare 1999 Fleer Ultra insert. ‘Diamond Producers’ is a 10-card set featuring the biggest stars of that era on a die-cut design with a Refractor-like finish. Odds of pulling one of these cards from 1999 Ultra were 1:288. Despite the high odds, they usually sell for about $5-$10 dollars.

Fleer’s Ultra line has a long history that began way back in the early-90’s as a “high-end” product. By the time the memorabilia revolution swept over The Hobby they went ahead and gave these Diamond Producers inserts a little make-over to please those collectors looking for their shredded relic fix.

Check out this 2004 Fleer Ultra Diamond Producers relic. There were no posted odds on this insert but the production run was estimated to be 1,000 cards of each player. Maybe it’s just the old school collector in me but that card sure lacks a lot of what made Diamond Producers great in the 90’s.

Fleer was retired killed-off after two disastrous U.D produced releases in 2007.

When you are going to use a word from the street while sitting in your ergonimically correct office space, do as I do and use it correctly jesse. If I am not mistaken that glittery card holds a much keener resemblance to the term ICE. Truly yours, Professor Inna Propria Tonkey, acreditted in street from Univ. South Central…*dramatic pause* Idaho

Fleer simply made too many mistakes and you are only allowed so many.

There are so many Fleer products in my shop’s dollar bin it’s crazy. But for a buck most of them are worth the purchase.
