Shane, Wax Heaven’s Man on the Street swears he’s retired from bustin’ wax. Despite that fact, Shane continues buying product to show collectors what non-Beckett breaks really look like.
If you’ve read any of the past Man on the Street segments, you know Shane is a big spender card companies dream about. He buys one box of every product and if he likesĀ it, he buys more. Shane was do disappointed with Upper Deck and Donruss’ efforts that he vowed to never touch either product again.

I agree, those cards suck. This is the very reason I stay far, far away from high end products. It seems that you NEVER (or at least very rarely) get your money’s worth. So what if the freakin’ base cards “add up” to what you spent on the box, it’s not like you can turn them into anything, ya know? Oooooh, a a Tom Brady base high column “value” $2.00. BFD. And that’s only if you buy into Beckett, which most don’t any more.
People buy high end stuff for high end hits … right? So where are they?!
I won’t consider Football Heroes a high end product and probably It’s a little expensive right now, should expect a more real value in months to come. From the set builder point of view FH is a really nice product, you have rookies, stars from the past and present, history cards, some really nice artworks, and from a product like this I don’t expect to get my money back, it seems to much to ask……
Hey Shane,
Is the Beckum available?
…
matt.
That’s why I paid $53 for mine.
Hey Folks,
All of this junk is on eBay…haha.
This stuff is NOT high-end. The other stuff I opened was high-end, National Treasures and the hits from it were much, much better. As Mario said I usually open at least one of each product, cheap or expensive. I usually open National Treasures, Premier, Exquisite, etc. Sometimes you just take a chance with cheap stuff and it does pay off…remember the Dr. Seuss Cut Signature. That card came from a $90 box of 2009 Topps Series One Baseball and the rest of it was junk…haha.
More to come. I cant retire from wax bustin’.

That Donruss is just plain ugly. I may not be spending that much money on basketball cards next year I guess.
I like this year’s Heroes design and that Brady/Bourque is a great card. The cost is just way too high, but that’s always the story with Upper Deck. Wait a year and you can buy it for a lot closer to what it should really sell for. Look at stuff like 07 Masterpieces, 08 Timelines, 08 Heroes and 07-08 Chronology for great product that people bust a ton of now that the prices have dropped. Upper Deck always sets the price point for their releases too high.
The one thing that I don’t like is the guitar hero stuff that they include in the football release. Upper Deck should just do a release of just celebrities and get it over with and keep them out of the sport products.
None of these are worth it. Elite really took a div this year. With that said, is he selling that Rey Maualuga?
hey is there any way the brady/ray barquoe is available by any chance? and yeah…both boxes were pretty junkie….
Shane has made it through the first stage, DENIAL. Now the healing can truly begin.
Those are pretty brutal.
I like the Bourque/Brady card, but that’s just literally a hometown thing.. After a closer look, I see it really is pretty uggla-y, lol.. Not a fan of the drawings, and the patches do very little for me to signify which teams they supposedly came from.. Some autos (even stickers), instead of the manupatches, along with even a slight improvement in the design, would make the card much better.. Even then, it still may not be good looking.
