A few weeks ago I had reserved for me two hobby boxes of ‘08 Allen & Ginter which unfortunately fell through thanks to eBay. After getting help getting two of the 4 Andrew Miller cards from the set in a contest, I forgot all about the set and intended on busting it when prices drop in a few months.
Tonight Tatiana went shopping and picked up a blaster box for me. I am thankful and surprised by the fact that I actually got a “hit” when there is no guarantee on the box. I usually get the shaft when I buy retail but this time I am happy with my pull and will trade it to anyone who can get me some new ‘08 Andrew Miller cards I don’t have.
Boy, I am starting to sound desperate but after paying $676 to get my Mustang fixed, eBay is off-limits for the next few weeks. Anyway, if you have an Andrew Miller and don’t know if I need it, click here.

The Jon Lester EWABLABLA was the actual crack the code card. The other one was just an advertisement. The odds of pulling a code card and that mini “French guy” are actually a lot higher than pulling the game used. Especially from retail! That’s pretty much the best you could have hoped for from a blaster, unless you pulled an auto.
My wife has been gracious enough to allow me to purchase two blasters. I’ve pulled an autograph card in each blaster. The first one of Ian Kinsler, the second of Fausto Carmona. I might try my luck at another blaster then use Sportslots to finish off the set over time.

I was shocked as well Charlie. I think the Baseball Card Gods allow me to get two great A&G blasters per year. 06 – Bonds and Pujols Game Used Jersey’s;
07 – Mussina and Gagne Game Used Pants; 08 – Kinsler and Carmona autos. Based on prior year experience I could pour a lot of dollars into blasters from here on out and get nothing but base cards. The only other inserts I’m hoping to pick up are the Hunter Pence autograph, and the Troy Tulowitzki Jersey, but those will most likely be provided by eBay.
Loved the Billy Mitchell too bad I only need the silk/auto/and red auto. Good mojo on the hit though.
Very Nice hit! The best thing I got from my blaster was a Team Orange card of “Mittens” McCluskey. I don’t think I’ve pulled a game used or autographed card since the Keiji Ohbiki game used ball from a box of Japanese baseball cards something like four+ months ago.
The Cubs just won.
