Ken Griffey Jr. traded!!!

31 07 2008

This is officially the most insane baseball season of all-time. Ivan Rodriguez to the Yankees, Manny Ramirez possibly going to the Marlins, and now Ken Griffey Jr. has officially become a Chicago White Sox.

“”The Reds have agreed to trade Ken Griffey Jr., who’s yet to play in a World Series, to the Central-leading White Sox and Griffey — who hit his 608th homer Wednesday — reportedly has accepted the deal.”"

He accepted and is waiting on approval by the commissioner.

I think he is hoping to finally win that World Series. Best of luck Ken!

And in celebration of his trade, Griffey Jr. broke his wrist and pulled his hamstring while jumping up and down in happiness….

I kid, I kid, :-)

Its not like he is some amazing player with monster stats. He WAS an amazing player, but now he is just a shell of what he used to be. Will it help the White Sox? Probably not considering how many outfielders they have. Will it hurt them? I wish, but probably not.

I hope Griffey gets a good run in the playoffs this year

I hope he gets re-energized by playing for a team in first place. Do I expect him to revert to his Seattle days? No. I do think that the Sox now have another cause to rally around. Getting Junior his ring.

Where he’ll play is another matter entirely.

Ken,
How are you going to be able to play CF in Chicago? You could barely play RF in Cincinnati!

Sincerely,
Jeff Brantley

I hope Chicago treats him better than Cincinnati did.
