North Las Vegas, NV – (July 25, 2008 ) – Upper Deck is proud to announce plans for the National Sports Collectors Convention in Rosemont, Illinois at the Donald E. Stevens Convention Center July 30 through August 3. The 29th Annual event boasts numerous activities and promises to draw large crowds not only from Chicago, but from around the world. Sports fans are encouraged to stop by the Upper Deck corporate booth to take part in a wide variety of fun activities throughout the weekend.
The company will host several giveaways throughout the week, many highlighting NBA Star Michael Jordan to commemorate his eminent induction into the Hall of Fame in 2009. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday guests can enjoy Kid’s Day at the National where children age 15 or younger can come by the booth to receive a free pack of Upper Deck cards (while supplies last). In addition to giveaways, attendees will also have the opportunity to enter daily raffles for the opportunity to win an Upper Deck All-Star Vinyl figurine.
A major draw for die-hard and casual collectors at the National Convention is Upper Deck’s Wrapper Redemption Program. In order to participate, attendees simply bring any five (5) packs (SRP $2.99 and above) of Upper Deck or Fleer 2008 Baseball, 2008 Football, 2007-08 Basketball or 2007-08 Hockey to receive a 6-card set of exclusive National redemption cards (while supplies last). Randomly inserted into the redemption packs are autograph variations and combo signature cards of superstars like Derek Jeter, Kobe Bryant, Ken Griffey Jr. and LeBron James.
