Hey guys, for those who don’t know yet…I am competing for a guest spot on MLB.com’s web show called ‘The Dish’. I just registered three days ago and already have over 200 votes which is good enough for third place. The guy in second is some dude named Eddie Mata who I guess is some kind of established actor and might or might not be a member of the Mafia, so no jokes from me!
The problem is that the guy with the #1 spot is some guy who looks like he hasn’t bathed in days and hasn’t had his hair cut since Jose Canseco hit 44 home runs in 1991. You can see his profile and photos HERE. Now, he was in law enforcement and all but if I lose to this guy then I am probably going to hide my face in shame for the rest of the year.
After reading the guy’s bio, there is no mention of ANY interest in sports:
I am a genuine people person who looks for the good first. I served 21 years in Law enforcement, retired, and now I am a P.I. ,where most of my jobs are acting jobs within themselves. You would be amazed at the roles I play while at work. Anyway I am ready to become a real actor. I have been in a few movies as a extra and done a few documentaries and seminars as a primary. I have also done 3 public service commercials. I am looking forward to being given a chance and I know I wont let you down. I look forward to meeting with and possibly working with you. Thank you Keith
Another thing I noticed after looking through the Top 10 is that most of these people are not fans, just guys looking for a gig. To me, that equates to no passion and the desire for nothing more than a paycheck and/or an opportunity for a reliable gig.
I have no interest in ever becoming an actor and if I lose out I will retire my profile but it would be a great opportunity for the site and our hobby to get some good, positive exposure. Cross your fingers and if you registered, thanks and keep voting!
Now, if only Topps would cast me in their show…

Sorry Mario, but I’d vote for Mr. Mullet just for the unintentional comedy that is sure to take place.
Russ – seconded.
