The Marlins have once again sent Taylor Tankersley to the Minors (where he belongs) and have called up pitcher Chris Volstad to start today in Mark Hendrickson’s spot in the rotation. At 21 years of age, Volstad stands 6 feet, 8 inches and is considered the #1 Marlins prospect going into the 2008 baseball season. It’s too bad he was brought up to make his M.L.B debut under these circumstances. The Marlins have been demoralized by the Colorado Rockies and Marlins Killer, Matt Holiday.
Volstad had an unimpressive 22-18 record in three seasons in the Minors but had a respectable 3.26 career ERA, something no Marlins starting pitcher is even near. He replaces former “Ace”, Hendrickson who is 7-7 with an 8.63 ERA in his last ten starts.
Chris, for your sake and the remaining 12 Marlins fans’ sake…WALK MATT HOLIDAY!

No BB needed tonight… good win for the kid. I guess we kinda owed you guys a win after the 35-run drama from a couple nights ago. I’m just hoping for a .500 season.
