In case you didn’t know, Florida Marlins’ shortstop Hanley Ramirez is up to 21 home runs and 21 stolen bases despite going an entire month with just 1 home run. So at 24 years of age, Hanley is closing in on a 30-30 season and even more impressive, a “40-40″ season.
In case you didn’t expect this from Hanley, I sort of called it. With each year that goes by, Hanley is going to get stronger and better (hopefully naturally) so he could be nearing in on a 50 home run season by next year. I just hope he never stops running.
If I were you, I’d go ahead and make an investment on his rookie cards. They are still relatively cheap, by today’s Bowman Chrome Autograph standards. If Hanley does manage to join the illustrious “40-40 Club”, he would be just the third youngest (A-Rod;22, Canseco;23).
Go Marlins (not intended for Taylor, Pinto, or Gregg)!!!
