2004 Fleer Greats of the Game (#’d)

13 10 2007

Finally, a card released after Jose’s retirement that does some good. It is a beautiful design, good photo, and rarely-used A’s jersey. This card is also serial #’d to 500, which makes it somewhat hard to find.

The Baseball Card Hall of Shame II

13 10 2007

In 1990 Pepsi thought it might be a good idea if they included baseball cards in their 12 packs of soda products. The result was something you might see if you had unprotected sex with your cousin and got her pregnant. A retard baby that looks like this.

Dull photo + no A’s logo + blue uniform (?) = GARBAGE

1990 Topps K-Mart (Oddball)

13 10 2007

As a kid you hated oddball cards. They weren’t listed in Beckett, weren’t cool, and usually never had rights to the Major League Baseball logos so it meant horrible-looking Photochopped cards. This one was actually cool simply for the expression on Jose’s face. This had to of been one of his 17 homeruns that season.

1986 Fleer Stickers (Oddball)

13 10 2007

As far as oddball cards are concerned, this is one of the best. It actually looks better than most cards of 1986, features Jose’s “Boy-Stache”, and has him wearing an A’s jersey I have never seen him wear in any other card. I’d say this was taken in 1985 shortly after his September call-up.
